Principle raises £1,000 for British Red Cross and announces Alzheimer’s Society as new charity

Principle Estate Management has raised a total of £1,000 for the British Red Cross, the company’s chosen charity for the 2022 to 2023 financial year.

Meanwhile, the Alzheimer's Society has been selected as Principle’s next chosen charity for the company’s new financial year.

Principle’s social committee chooses its “charity of the year” at the annual staff conference, which is held at the end of the company’s financial year in October.

Andrew Cleverley, service charge team leader at Principle, and a member of the charity & social committee, explained the background to the company’s charity focus.

Mr Cleverley said: “Principle works with people, not just properties, and this means that one of our most important company commitments is to positively impact on the lives of those in our communities every day.

“We are proud to have raised £1,000 for the British Red Cross through various events such as pub quizzes, a Valentine's Day raffle, a car boot sale, and Principle’s World Food Day.

“This is a charity that everyone here at Principle and many of those we work with feel is doing incredibly hard work in today’s world that’s so badly impacted by wars and climate change.

“Our new charity for the 2023 to 24 financial year has been chosen because so many people in the local communities we serve are either related to or know someone who has been affected by this terrible illness.

“We are determined to raise even more money to help the critical work done by the Alzheimer's Society.”

Other members of the charity & social committee are Seran Fitzpatrick, client services assistant, Brogan Lewis, senior property assistant, James Winstanley, finance assistant, and Ben Winstanley, administrator assistant.

As well as organising company events that help raise more money for the chosen charity, the committee also organises social events aimed at bringing colleagues together.

Mr Cleverley added: “Having a social committee ensures that there is a team constantly working behind the scenes to find new ways to increase awareness and raise funds for our chosen charity throughout the financial year.”
